Associate Financial Management Officer
The ADB-Nepal Resident Mission (NRM) was established to assist its Headquarters in the implementation of projects and programs: in project processing, country programming, and economic and sector work. It also coordinates ADB's activities with other resident diplomatic and donor missions, NGOs, academic institutions, local think tanks, private sector and other members of the civil society.
Description of Responsibilities
The Associate Financial Management Officer will be responsible to monitor and strengthen the financial management capacity of executing/implementing agencies (EAs/lAs) of Nepal and other Resident Mission's portfolio and to monitor projects' compliance with ADB's financial management (FM) requirements, including financial reporting and auditing. The position will also provide support in implementing FM policies and strategies in Nepal and other Resident Mission(s) and other selected SARD DMCs as needed.
Reporting Arrangement The incumbent will report to the designated International Staff (IS) and Senior National Staff.
Selection Criteria
Specific criteria include
■ Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.
■ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; preferably with advanced training.
■ Professional accountancy designation (CA/ACCA/CPA) with public accountancy/audit experience will be preferred.
■ At least 6 years’ relevant work experience in the private sector or public sector FM (i.e. accountancy, auditing, banking, credit assessment) or related area.
■ Able to liaise and work effectively with government officials, with other staff members and consultants in the delivery of quality outputs.
■ Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of ADB operational processes and procedures with good analytical skills.
■ Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds.
■ Good computer skills with sound knowledge of common word-processing, spreadsheets, and database management tools.
■ Familiarity with local languages and institutions.
■ Good writing and speaking skills in English are essential.

The advertised position is a local staff position with a local remuneration package. It is open only to nationals and residents of Nepal. The position is for a 3-year fixed term appointment.
